The ambitious project more than doubles the company’s operational footprint in Durango, bringing the combined office and manufacturing space to approximately 40,000 square feet.

By scaling up its infrastructure, the company aims to eliminate historical operational bottlenecks, bring vital testing capabilities in-house, and accelerate overall production timelines for commercial and government aerospace programs.

The journey toward this state-of-the-art facility expansion began with rapid organizational growth that quickly outpaced Agile’s previous 19,500-square-foot footprint. Construction on the new wing commenced in January 2026 and proceeded at a swift pace, reaching completion just six months later in July.
This physical growth directly mirrors a massive surge in workforce expansion. Agile currently employs 167 personnel companywide, with 124 of those workers based at the Durango headquarters. Highlighting the company’s aggressive trajectory, Agile has hired 77 new employees over the preceding 12 months alone. According to corporate projections, the business is on track to grow more than fourfold between 2022 and the end of 2026.
Chris Pearson, Chief Executive Officer of Agile Space Industries, emphasized the strategic importance of the regional investment during the August event. “The opening of the expanded Durango facility is crucial to support our continued growth,” Pearson stated. “By year-end, the business will have grown more than four-fold since 2022, and the expanded footprint shows our commitment to our HQ here in Colorado while growing our presence in Oklahoma and Washington.”

Strategic Redesign of Manufacturing and Testing Capabilities
The newly constructed 20,500-square-foot space has been strategically allocated to maximize workflow efficiency, separating administrative duties from heavy industrial production while vastly enhancing quality control.
Roughly 19,000 square feet of the new addition is dedicated to corporate offices, alongside a specialized 1,500-square-foot climate-controlled inspection room. This dedicated inspection hub houses high-precision measurement tools designed to rigorously assess flight hardware, ensuring absolute adherence to the rigorous reliability standards demanded by the aerospace sector.

More importantly, the new footprint liberates the legacy 19,500-square-foot building. Previously, shared office and production requirements squeezed manufacturing into roughly 11,000 square feet. With administrative staff moving into the new wing, the legacy building has been entirely converted into an expanded manufacturing floor.
The reconfiguration adds approximately 8,000 square feet of dedicated manufacturing space. This newfound room accommodates cutting-edge cleanroom facilities, a significantly larger machine shop, and advanced in-house testing equipment. Most notably, Agile has integrated in-house vibration testing capabilities. Previously, the company was forced to rely on third-party vendors to subject its propulsion components to rigorous vibration simulations mimicking launch conditions. Bringing this capability in-house is expected to drastically cut logistical delays, reduce external dependencies, and accelerate product development cycles from design to flight readiness.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony drew notable political figures eager to champion regional high-tech job creation. The event featured facility tours, speeches, and a ceremonial ribbon-cutting attended by roughly 30 to 40 invited guests and approximately 100 Agile employees.
